The End Of An Era

The End Of an Era
We have sold our little yacht.  We have been the proud owners of our dear little Sunstar18 for the past 12 years. She has been so much fun and we have really enjoyed lots of sailing, picnics, days out, fishing, family gatherings, weekend sleep- on-boards and days knit-on -boards. She has kept us safe in all weathers and given us many, many  happy memories.

But we felt that it was time to let her go as we are doing much more sailing around the Med. We are pleased her new owners are local and we know they will have an amazing and wonderful time and it's really nice to see they are so excited to take her on.

So as the Sun sets and the Riding Lantern is lit for the end of  a lovely sailing time.
We look forward to new adventures sailing on fine sea breezes, blue seas, sunny skies. Of course we are NOT giving up the great sailing here on the Island as we still have our two dinghies!
We will be out enjoying the river Medina whenever we get the chance and take part in a few Mirror dinghy races as the season gets going, so there will be plenty to tell you about "on the water".

Happy sailing,
little "Georgina" and Thank you for 12 fantastic years aboard!

Another Wonderful Sail

Just back from a wonderful fortnight sailing around our favourite Greek Isles. This year we were on a Beneteau 323.
Her name is KIATO and she was really lovely to sail, nippy, sporty and really likes to go in a good sea breeze. We were making 8 knots of speed in her most days even when we needed to reef the sails in  23-27 knots of wind!

One of the highlights of this trip was- we had a couple of dolphins swimming at our bow and then jumping, twisting and I'm sure trying to splash me. We usually spot dolphins but this was pretty special- perhaps they knew I would be  celebrating my birthday on this voyage and came to say hello, it put a huge grin on my face. However didn't manage to catch a photo of them to caught up in the moment I suppose.

While waiting for the breeze to fill we would find a little bay all to ourselves, drop the anchor and have a swim. Each little bay we found we named- this one obviously was Emerald Cave bay.

My birthday weekend was spent in Fiskardo on Kefalonia Island.  Cards and presents, sailing, swimming and shopping. Cocktails and bubbly, picnics on board and dinner ashore.

What more could a girl want. A perfect sunset on a magical holiday!
